David graduated from the National University of Singapore and is widely known in the Asia-Pacific region for his expertise in complex commercial disputes (in both litigation and arbitration matters) and advises clients in large commercial disputes, regulatory matters, compliance and anti-bribery/corruption cases. With his language skills, he is also often called upon to handle cross-border matters and has built up significant experience in dealing with issues relating to conflict of laws or private international law. David has also represented clients in large shareholder disputes, insolvency and other company-related issues.
David’s other key practice relates to product liability. He advises clients in defending their products, especially in the automotive sector. In particular, he was responsible for overseeing the defense and co-ordination of product liability matters for a large luxury German brand covering all of Asia for over 9 years. He also acts for various large multi-brand dealers in Asia.
Both in practice and senior in-house roles, David was heavily involved in compliance matters, especially in relation to anti-corruption matters and investigations. This includes creating internal systems to comply with the requirements of the relevant anti-corruption legislation and participating in internal investigations in respect of potential breaches.

David is fluent in English and Chinese. He speaks English, Mandarin (Putonghua) and several Chinese dialects (Teochew, basic Hokkien and Cantonese).
