Angela is a graduate from the National University of Singapore and has practised with major international law firms in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong. Angela regularly advises major international clients including well known Fortune 500 companies on a wide range of corporate matters including the takeover of listed companies, substantial asset restructuring, capital fund raising, cross border private equity transactions and structured financing in Hong Kong, mainland China and South East Asia. She also acts for China state owned enterprises and Chinese domestic companies and entrepreneurs in their various investments overseas.

Angela was involved in various corporate finance and acquisitions in the Greater China region including :-

– disposal of China mining assets and placement of shares to a listed company in excess of HK$2 billion;
– acquisition of interest in an entertainment broadcasting company by 5 Chinese state owned companies for US$30 million;
– corporate finance for acquisition of shares in a PRC Joint Venture for a total investment of RMB200 million;
– infrastructure loan financing for the re-construction and operation of highway in Guangdong;
– listing of high quality die-casting manufacturing company on NASDAQ;
– reverse takeover of listed company in Hong Kong by an IT company involving several placements of shares in excess of HK$700 million;
– consolidation of several coalbed mines concessionary rights in China and restructuring the holding company for investments by private equity funds and listing on NASDAQ;
– internal group restructuring and mergers and acquisitions of Middle Eastern Interests with deal size of around US$28 million and US$32 million respectively;
– acting in a distributorship agreement of a mainland China products for sale in various South East Asia markets.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

Angela also leads the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution team in complex cross border disputes and high value commercial transactions.

Our team has achieved landmark successes in the Hong Kong courts, notably :-

– Resisting a US$150 million Mareva injunction;
– Successfully enforcing a HK$150 million PRC judgment on behalf of a major financial institution;
– Defending a Hong Kong-listed company in a High Court trademark dispute against a UK-listed entity.

Angela’s extensive experience extends into the arbitration sphere, where she acted as Hong Kong law expert in a Sino foreign joint venture arbitration case in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and the firm served as co-counsel in a high-value HKIAC arbitration between US and Chinese entities.
